Father Daniel W. Gerres Scholarship Fund
Father Daniel Gerres, a 1955 graduate of St. Ann School, and a retired priest of our diocese, ordained in 1966, passed away at the age of 83 on March 25th, 2024 . He grew up on Union St. His funeral was here at his home parish of St. Ann on Tuesday, April 2nd with Bishop Koenig as the celebrant. He was buried in the priests section of All Saints Cemetery.
Fr. Gerres served as a priest for 58 years and helped in several parishes after retiring in 2010. He served 25 years in the Delaware Army National Guard retiring in 2000 as a Brigadier General. He mentored many seminarians who became priests including Fr. Mink. In his memory, we are happy to announce the Father Daniel W. Gerres Scholarship Fund for St. Ann School.
Contributions to the fund may be payable to St. Ann's School and sent to the rectory or made online at Parish Giving. The fund will be used for school technology upgrades on an ongoing basis.
